The Healing Power of Plant Medicine: Awakening the Goddess with Gaia’s Gifts

In the chaos of our modern world, it’s easy to lose touch with the deeper, ancient wisdom that lies within the Earth and ourselves. Gaia, our sacred Mother Earth, offers us profound gifts that have the power to heal and transform us, if we are willing to listen and reconnect.

Gaia’s gifts are not just physical—such as her plants, her cycles, or her energy—but also metaphysical, offering us a path of transformation that is deeply spiritual. These gifts can awaken a deeper consciousness, align us with our true essence, and guide us to restore balance, both within ourselves and in our world.

In our latest adventure, The Mystic Travel Agency invites you to join Dr. Fabio Ramirez in the Caribbean, where you will be initiated into the mysteries of Gaia’s wisdom. The next journey is planned to start in February 2026.  Together, we will explore the teachings of sacred plants, spiritual journeys, and the profound connection to the Goddess and her nurturing forces. This journey is not just about healing, but about remembering our place within the grand cosmic rhythm.

Join us on a journey as we explore the connection between plant medicine, consciousness, and the pursuit of equality.

The Wild Golden Egg: What experiences and background led you to write Okuiride: Eroticism as Medicine?

Dr. Ramirez: First, there is something missing in conventional medicine, and that is a holistic view of illness. Illness begins with dissatisfaction. Society plays a crucial role in the development of illness, as do emotions, which are rarely considered in conventional medicine. The possibility of having alternative treatments, not just relying on medication, and especially the empathy and human connection during consultations is essential.

The myth has a fluid horizon, drawing its mobility from rituals, and by feeding on them, prevents the myth from condensing into rigid formulas and stereotypes. (Quote from: Okuiride: Eroticism as Medicine)

The Wild Golden Egg: Why has the feminine, in your perspective, been excluded?

Dr. Ramirez: Almost 70% of poverty is related to women. Patriarchy is associated with authoritarianism, war, coercion, and lovelessness. Many tribes speak about this, not only in Colombia but in many countries, that a transformation is necessary and that we must focus more on the feminine now.

The human is also the divine, and that has been neglected to reinforce production and a materialized perspective. A lot has been sacrificed to pursue a narrow idea of success. In a way, we have dehumanized ourselves. We are meant to humanize ourselves. Mindfulness is humanization. Mindfulness is being in the here and now, because that is the only thing that is real. The past is already gone, the future is not yet here. Only through mindfulness can we live in the here and now, where everything happens, including the divine.

The Wild Golden Egg: Where is the divine?

Dr. Ramirez: The divine is within us, it must be discovered.

The Wild Golden Egg: What is Yahe?

Dr. Ramirez: It is a source of wisdom. It is a sacred plant from the Amazon, and sacred means “it connects.” It is a plant that allows you to experience a complex cosmic harmony, beyond concepts, beyond speculation. It is pure experience.

And it is a medicine; it serves to heal diseases. It’s not a party trip; it serves to heal.

The Wild Golden Egg: In Austria, the sacrament is rather alcohol. But that tends to do the opposite of creating connections, right?

Dr. Ramirez: Alcohol in our civilization is associated with numbness. People suffer, they are sensitive, they have no answers in life. When a problem arises that they can’t bear, they numb themselves. Alcohol and consumption are strategies for numbing.

At some point, though, one must face confrontation, with death, for example. Real healing involves confronting death. But this has nothing to do with destruction; death is when the ego dies temporarily so that it can be reborn.

The Wild Golden Egg: What can I expect if I drink Yahe?

Dr. Ramirez: You don’t actually die, but a part of you dies. What dies? What must die—sadness, the past, illusion, depression. That dies so that something new can arise.

The Wild Golden Egg: In your book, you mostly talk about the Okuiride Medicine, where you mention that we can experience healing through mindfulness, empathy, and consciousness. How does that work?

Dr. Ramirez: Okuiride means to be mindful. Mindfulness is exactly what is missing now, as well as love as eroticism. When people think of eroticism, they always think of genitality—that’s one aspect. Sexuality is the relationship with pleasure, and eroticism is more than just sexuality. It’s creativity, it’s celebration. It’s all together. Okuiride is a new paradigm in medicine, in the sense that healing happens through mindfulness, empathy, and consciousness.

Dr. Ramirez: A medicine that does not reach consciousness is temporary. The illness remains, or a new illness arises that is similar to the previous one.

When sexuality has a different context, when it exists within a broader framework, and erotic exchange doesn’t have a genital primacy, then it becomes a completely different kind of sexuality.

The Wild Golden Egg: What happens in this situation, why do so many couples stop having sex? How can they relearn it?

Dr. Ramirez: This is exactly what we work on in the training — how to make the body come alive so it can be awake. After this awakening, you become conscious—mindfulness can be present in erotic exchange, and it no longer has to do with jealousy or fear. It becomes a new attitude and a completely new experience of the body.

The next training will take place in February 2026. Interested individuals can already reach out to us.

The Wild Golden Egg: How can reconciliation between the genders occur and the feminine be honored?

Dr. Ramirez: The solution is to never harm a woman. The woman is the path to the Divine. She is Mother Nature. Through the fusion of the woman with the man in total sexuality, one can reach the Divine. This cannot be achieved without the feminine energy. It is a tribute to the feminine.

Editor’s note: The consumption of DMT-containing plants, such as Ayahuasca, is illegal in Austria, but it is part of tradition in Colombia. The Wild Golden Egg provides a journalistic perspective on the current situation and does not endorse substance use. However, it is important to note that while the use of Ayahuasca is not illegal in Colombia, there may be certain risks, especially regarding non-certified or improperly prepared mixtures. It is recommended that individuals wishing to consume Ayahuasca do so under the guidance of experienced shamans or in specialized centers that take the necessary safety precautions.

The present problem of humanity is one of desire, not ideas. Various thinkers have confirmed this: Freud, Marcuse, Norman O’Brown.

Largely responsible for this is the exclusively genital sexuality in a dead, unfeeling body, which gives rise to relationships of possessiveness, jealousy, and abuse.

It is necessary to awaken the entire body and transform eroticism into a game, not a source of suffering. This is the theme that this book addresses, both from a theoretical and practical perspective.

The use of violence against desire is ultimately the origin of almost every form of individual and societal aggression.
